Wysshé: Typeface Design

Wysshé ((h)wī-SHē) is a display sans-serif inspired by my trip to southern France where I explored the beautiful fields of lavendar and cherry trees. While here, I discovered the poem by Percy Bysshe Shelley called, “Ozymandias.” A story of a traveller coming across a broken and decayed monument of King Ozymandias illustrating the vulnerablity of old rulers. Southern France is littered with old structures of former empires from several thousands years ago. These monuments are covered in nature’s grip that is stronger than the empires that previously ruled them. This typeface is a multilingual experiment and discovery that I had while traveling abroad. To the adventours of the past and present.
