"They Live": Poster Design

This is a poster design for the 1988 film "They Live" directed by John Carpenter. The communication objective for this project is to create a dominating first impression that doesn’t spoil the movie. This poster should follow the American poster standard sizes and could be displayed at any movie theater. Through preliminary research I discovered five terms that describes the movie; Uncomfortable, Paranoid, Overpowered, Suspicious, and Confined. These terms influenced the hybrid use of traditional and digital media in creating a realistic appearance of the movie's antagonist. The extreme close-up of the alien staring directly at the viewer provides an itching and intriguing uncomfortability that grabs your attention and follows the terminology chosen for this assignment.
